So if you’re the star of a well-known TV series that chronicles the complete overhaul of someone’s car every week, it stands to reason you want a pretty cool ride for yourself. Well, AJ is a TV star, and AJ did want bitchin’ Firebird to call her very own. So she called the guys at Ghostworks Garage! As the star of OverHaulin’, AJ is familiar with both excellent design and the nuts and bolts of building a show-winning car. And when she started telling us what she was looking for in a ’68 Firebird – we knew just what to do.

AJ wanted a car that was powerful, but well-mannered and not hard to get along with – so an LS3 crate motor from GM Performance Parts was chosen to fit the bill. At 430 horsepower out of the box and with all the manners of a new car, the LS was perfect for her. Rowing gears is fun, but can be a pain in LA traffic, so a 4L60E automatic from Bowler Performance transfers the horses to the Moser 12-bolt rear. Good brakes are a must on any modern performance car, and Baer Racing’s 6-piston setup kills speed quicker than a CHP speed trap. For lots of fun in the twisties, Detroit Speed suspension is used front and rear. Inside, an updated interior, Classic Auto Air and a smokin’ sound system keep AJ comfortable and entertained. Finished in a custom Midnight Blue Pearl color from BASF, the car is almost as stunning as its owner.

Like her, AJ’s Firebird is a beauty with unmistakable style and presence. It’s the perfect car for the star of a TV show about cars……..
